Our Troop
We are Jurior Girl Scout Troop #456. We are from Apopka, Florida, USA. We are formed by girls from 8 to
11 years old. We are in 3rd, 4th or 5th grade from different Elementary Schools in Apopka. Some are from Lakeville Elementary
others from Clay Spring Elementary and there is a Homeschooling girl, too. Our troop belong to Foliage Service Unit.
Foliage SU is one of many unit in Citrus Council. And Citrus Council covers all Central Florida.

History of Our Troop
Troop #456 was formed in August, 1999 as a Daisy Troop by Maria Perez. Ms. Maria how the girls called her, was assiting
her sister Elizabeth with her Jr. troop, then. She was not married and had no children but, she loved kids
and Girl Scouts so, she decided to open a troop for her little nieces to join. Her teenage nieces, Vivian Nevares
and Elianne Maldonado were her assistants. She bridged her little Daisies to Brownies but due to her job Ms. Maria could not
be the leader after the first Brownie year. Her sister Elizabeth, GS Leader for 7 years and had Cadettes already, took over.
The troop bridges to Jrs. last year. Now Ms. Elizabeth with Ms. Maria's and Elianne's help, and with Vivian as her Co-
Leader are just ending their 1st JR. year. And looking foward for many more exating years in Girl Scouting.
